Niewielu mieszkańców Janowa, dzielnicy Łodzi orientuje się, że znajduje się tam cmentarz ewangelicki. Jeszcze mniej zdaje sobie sprawę, że to była kolonia osadników niemieckich wyznania ewangelickiego. Pierwszych olędrów sprowadził do Janowa właściciel tej wsi, Józef Olszewski. Wiadomo, że stało się to jeszcze przed rokiem 1790. Jednym ze śladów ich dawnej obecności jest cmentarz, znajdujący się na południe od głównej drogi biegnącej przez wieś, tuż przy leśnym dukcie. Położony jest na niewielkim wzniesieniu, łatwo zlokalizować go dzięki dobrze widocznym pozostałościom po kamiennym ogrodzeniu. Na samym cmentarzu zachowało się kilka nagrobków lub ich fragmentów, na niektórych można odczytać jeszcze pochodzące z lat międzywojennych inskrypcje. Szczególną uwagę zwraca ozdobny metalowy krzyż ustawiony na jednej z ziemnych mogił. [2013]

Die ersten Holländer wurden vom Besitzer des Dorfes, Jozef Olszewski, nach Janów gebracht. Es ist bekannt, dass dies vor 1790 geschah. The first Hollanders were brought to Janów by the owner of this village, Jozef Olszewski. It is known that this happened before 1790. One of the traces of their former presence is the cemetery, located south of the main road running through the village, next to a forest track. It is situated on a small hill and is easily located thanks to the clearly visible remains of a stone fence. Several tombstones or fragments of tombstones have survived in the cemetery itself, and on some of them inscriptions from the inter-war years can still be read.
