Wcześniej pisałem, że Muzeum w Gałkowie wzbogaciło się o kilka dokumentów z byłej szkoły w Zielonej Górze - Grünberg. Jednym z nich jest bardzo ciekawa 32-stronicowa broszura o szpitalu im.M.Pirogowa w Łodzi mieszczącego się przy ul. Wólczańskiej 191/195.
Postanowiłem zająć się tłumaczeniem tego materiału, myślę, że wielu łodzian wzbogaci swoją wiedzę o tym zasłużonym szpitalu.

Przedmowa
W czerwcu tego roku minęły cztery lata od uroczystego otwarcia szpitala St. Johannes.
W tym krótkim czasie Szpital św. Jana zyskał opinię jednego z najważniejszych szpitali w mieście Łodzi, dzięki nowoczesnemu zapleczu, doskonałej dyscyplinie personelu i uznanej dobrej opiece nad chorymi.
Jednak społeczeństwo nie jest jeszcze tak dobrze poinformowane o Szpitalu św. Jana, jak na to naprawdę zasługuje.
Dlatego oddając niniejszą broszurę do druku, mam nadzieję, że w skrócie przedstawię najszerszym warstwom naszego społeczeństwa dobrze zarysowany obraz szpitala St. Johannis.
Oby w ten sposób rosło zainteresowanie szpitalem St. Johannis, a ten ostatni niech zyska jeszcze wielu przyjaciół i patronów w mieście i na wsi.

Im Juni dieses Jahres waren vier Jahre zeit der feierlichen Eröffnung des St. Johannes-Krankenhauses verflossen
In dieser kurzen Zeit hat das St. Johannes-Krankenhauses dank seinen modernen Einrichtungen, der hervorragenden Züchtigkeit seiner Herzte, der anerkannt guten Pflege der Kranken den Ruf eines der bedeutendsten Krankenhäuser der Stadt Lodz erlangt.
Die Oeffentlichkeit ist jedoch noch nicht in dem Maße über das St. Johannis-Krankenhaus orientiert, wie es dasselbe tatsächlich verdient.
Wenn ich daher diese Broschüre dem Druck übergabe, so hoffe ich, dadurch weitesten Schichten unserer Bevölkerung ein abgerundetes Bild über das St. Johannis-Krankenhaus in aller Kürze zu bieten.
Möge auf diese Weise das Intersse am St. Johannis-Krankenhause wachsen, und möge letzteres noch viele Freunde und Gönner in Stadt und Land gewinnen.

In June of this year, four years had passed since the ceremonial opening of the St. Johannes Hospital.
In this short time, St. John's Hospital has gained the reputation of being one of the most important hospitals in the city of Lodz, thanks to its modern facilities, the excellent discipline of its staff and the acknowledged good care of the sick.
However, the public is not yet as well informed about St. John's Hospital as it really deserves to be.
Therefore, in submitting this brochure to print, I hope to provide the broadest strata of our population with a well-rounded picture of St. Johannis Hospital in brief.
May interest in St. Johannis Hospital grow in this way, and may the latter win many more friends and patrons in town and country.
